Hi, I'm Heather! Fitness and wellness have been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember. As a competitive athlete growing up, movement became an essential part of my well-being. I began teaching group fitness classes in college, where I fell in love with the energy of moving together and the strong sense of community that fitness creates. After a knee injury, I discovered barre and was immediately drawn to how challenging and effective it was yet low-impact. In 2018, when the opportunity to become the owner of barre3 Middletown presented itself, I took a leap of faith, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Barre3 completely transformed my perspective on fitness. It taught me that strength and success aren't about perfection, they're about finding balance, listening to your body, and showing up exactly as you are. One of the things I love most about barre3 is that it truly meets you where you are, no matter your age, ability, or season of life. Helping others experience the life-changing impact of barre3 through both the movement and the incredible community inspires me every day. My journey has become even more meaningful as I partner with the amazing Michelle Gelok to co-own barre3 Frankfort Avenue. Together, we're committed to creating a welcoming space where every person feels seen, supported, and empowered.

Hello and welcome! I am Michelle, and I have loved fitness and moving my body for the last 20 years. I grew up playing soccer, but after discovering group fitness in college I never looked back.  I love to try out new studios and workouts, and group fitness helped keep me afloat as I started my career after college. It quickly became an essential part of daily life to maintain my mental health. As I traveled around the United States and across the world for work, I would try new places and groups. After relocating to Louisville in 2017, I discovered barre3 Frankfort Avenue and found my new home. Two years later I joined the staff, and after seven years working there, I became co-owner with my fabulous partner, Heather Thomas.

One of the best things about barre3 Frankfort Avenue is the support you will find here, both in the classes and within the community. While I first started coming as a client with my best friends, my community grew exponentially when I became a regular in class. The women of this community have helped support me through some big changes in my life, and the instructors have helped me navigate fitness as I live with degenerative disc disease. They have shown me where to find balance in my body and that I can still grow stronger while respecting my body’s limits. No matter what stage of life, you are welcome to come here and find your own balance. Together with Heather, we are committed to creating a safe space for you to feel strong and empowered.
