Studio Owner

Lindsay Irrer

Lindsay grew up in a dance studio, where she fell in love with the energy of moving together and the sense of family it creates. After college, she found herself longing for that same feeling of connection, which led her and her best friend Janelle to open their first studio in Birmingham in 2013. The friendships and memories formed within those walls have become some of her greatest treasures. Lindsay finds deep joy in watching women build meaningful relationships with one another while strengthening the relationship they have with themselves.

She spends her days thoughtfully cultivating a studio community—from the in-studio and online experience to partnerships and giving back through special events. Lindsay is married to her middle school sweetheart and raising three young children in a dual-entrepreneur household, her hands and heart are full! In her spare time, she loves exploring new downtown restaurants, enjoying Michigan’s beautiful lakes, and remains a lifelong student of self-development.

Janelle Herbert

Janelle grew up as a competitive dancer, paired with an inherited drive for entrepreneurship. When her best friend Lindsay said, “Let’s open a fitness studio,” it sparked one of Janelle’s greatest life decisions and a chance to beautifully blend passion with purpose. Over more than a decade of building studio communities, she has become deeply grateful for the friendships, memories, and experiences created along the way.

Janelle believes that doing what you love is the cornerstone of an abundant life. Janelle planted her roots in Birmingham, Michigan with the opening of their first studio and now spends her days balancing business administration with leading instructor teams—two very different roles that keep her inspired and engaged. Outside the studio, she’s a devoted momager to a family of six, married to her equally driven, wellness-focused partner, and finds joy in travel, new hobbies, and time with family and friends.

barre3 Detroit - Birmingham | Barre Classes in the Rail District

Barre3 Detroit - Birmingham sits in the Rail District, the old commercial pocket that grew up along the Grand Trunk tracks and now holds restaurants, breweries, and shops in its low brick buildings—the 1931 depot still anchors the strip, and Griffin Claw Brewing is right up South Eton Street. Just off Cole Street, the studio is a short walk from Kenning Park, whose ball diamonds and shaded playground sit across East Lincoln. Booth Park and its wood-chip trail along the Rouge River are a short drive west. Come in before a walk in the park, or work barre3 into your week.

Our barre3 Detroit - Birmingham studio offers three classes that complement each other across your week. Barre3 Signature blends strength, cardio, and mindfulness into one complete full-body workout, using the barre, core ball, and weights to build strength, increase flexibility, and sharpen balance. B3 Strength is the deeper muscle work—heavier weights and slow, deliberate movement that builds the kind of strength you feel in your everyday life. B3 Cardio brings the heat—a high-energy, full-body push that leaves you feeling accomplished and clear-headed, not wiped out. You'll leave feeling stronger and more capable than when you walked in. Every fitness level is welcome.
