Studio owner Kimberly Johanson

Studio Owner

Kimberly Johanson

Kimberly Johanson is a chemical engineer turned barre3 client, then instructor and now owner. She has a background in marketing and sales along with a passion for wellness and community outreach. Kimberly has always loved to dance and relied on running as a means for fitness and mental health, but was sidelined with lingering pains after having her daughter, Evelyn, in 2013. She originally turned to barre3 as a means to lose the baby weight but immediately fell in love with every bit of the class, staff and community - and forgot that weight loss was even the goal! Today, Kimberly is stronger than ever, and welcomed son Madocks in 2017. You'll see the entire family, including husband Colin, out and about in the community (and of course at the studio) all week long, so please stop and say hello!

Studio owner Katie Lyden

Studio Owner

Katie Lyden

Katie Lyden is a Seattle area native. She and her husband are raising three boys just minutes from the studio. For over 20 years Katie taught elementary school and in 2017, Katie began teaching at barre3 Ballard. She stepped away from teaching school in an effort to follow her love of barre3; the class, the team, and the community. This path led her to taking on additional roles within the studio like community management and partnerships, planning events, and working at the front desk. She is beyond thrilled to now be Kimberly's partner in ownership! You will find her at the studio, running in the neighborhood, shuttling boys to all sorts of activities, and enjoying the Ballard shops and restaurants.
