What to Expect

No experience required. Our classes are designed to make everyone feel welcome and get a great workout. Wear yoga-like attire (socks are optional) and bring a water bottle. We supply all props needed. We encourage new clients to arrive 15 minutes early to get a tour and meet your instructor.

Signing Up

We use MINDBODY as our scheduling tool, so you’ll first need to create a MINDBODY account. After you’ve created your account and purchased some class credits, all you need to do is sign up for the class you’d like to attend on MINDBODY’s website or mobile app.

Benefits

Barre3 is functional training with a twist. Rooted in three fitness disciplines—ballet barre, pilates and yoga—barre3 workouts will have you feeling strong and balanced inside and out. We’re known for building lean muscles, a strong core, and long-term postural benefits.

Alicia Sokol
Studio Owner

Alicia Sokol is the proud owner of barre3 DC - 14th Street. She discovered barre3 as a client in 2012, and was immediately drawn to the warmth of the community and the effectiveness of the class. Before long, she was running without joint pain and noticing new strength in her core. When Alicia became a barre3 instructor shortly thereafter, she realized that her on-the-side "fun" job could become an attractive "real" job. She is delighted to bring a vibrant new barre3 community to the 14th Street neighborhood. Previously, Alicia worked in public health communications and wrote a popular cooking blog, Weekly Greens, to inspire busy people to cook meals at home using fresh ingredients. Alicia lives in DC with her husband Andy and their two sons.

Pre + Postnatal

Moms-to-be and new moms love barre3. If you’re pregnant or postpartum, consult with your doctor before taking barre3 classes. Please arrive early to class and check in with your instructor, who will provide alternative postures appropriate for pregnant or postpartum clients.

Childcare

It’s easy to fit exercise into your life when you can bring the kids. Minors under 18 years of age are welcome. If minors are on the premises while guardians are in class, you must purchase a childcare package. Reservations are highly recommended. Please reserve under your name and not your child’s name.

Young Clients

Minors aged 14 and up are welcome to attend class with their parent or guardian. Clients 14-15 years of age will require a parent or guardian to accompany them during class. Clients 16-17 years of age will require a New Client Waiver to be signed by their parent or guardian.

Cancellation Policy & Other Fine Print

You can cancel a reservation up to 4 hours before class. Late cancellations or no-shows incur a $15 charge to accounts with an unlimited monthly membership or the reduction of one class from a class package.
