  • Is barre3 a ballet workout?

    We are different from traditional ballet classes. Clients with a background in ballet enjoy the class because it offers the same grace and carriage but with a barre3 take that fuses other teachings together.

  • How is barre3 like yoga?

    We are inspired by the philosophy and wisdom of yoga. We call our classes “sneaky yoga” because while you won’t find us chanting Om you will still get the meditative benefits of being completely present in your body for the full time you are working out with us. You will also find many yoga inspired postures and breath awareness cues that support a regular asana practice.

  • Is barre3 considered functional training?

    Functional training helps to make daily activities easier to do and lessens the risk for injury. So, yes, barre3 is functional. Our goal is to teach you alignment principles that apply to everything you do, from how you hold your kids to sports performance and sitting at your computer. It’s not about the 10-60 minutes you spend doing barre3. It is about how those minutes balance your body all day long!

    Why does my body sometimes shake during intense parts of class?

    Shaking muscles are a good thing. We call them barre3 “earthquakes.” The quaking sensation is an indication that your muscles are being put under a new kind of stress that they aren’t used to and as a result they are getting stronger. The vibration in your body is also a sign that you are using energy, burning calories and revving your metabolism.

  • How do I find a studio near me?

    We continue to open new studios across the country! Check our locations to find a studio near you. You can also work out in the comfort of your home with our barre3 Online workouts.   • What are the physical benefits of practicing barre3?

    The benefit we are most proud of is that clients have literally measured taller after taking barre3 classes. The benefits clients are most excited about is losing inches around their waists, hips, thighs, and upper arms! Barre3 really does shape and lift the entire body.

  • What mind/body benefits does barre3 have?

    We connect mental health to physical health. Posture, for example, can impact your energy and mood. People who stand “tall and proud” with ease and have a nice balance between flexibility and strength are likely to be more energetic and positive.

  • How many times a week should I do this to get the best results?

    For fast shaping results,*commit to practicing at least 3 times per week. Consistency is key! Whether you have 10 minutes or 60 minutes, find time for yourself and get your workout in. You can even practice barre3 every day, just make sure you’re listening to your body’s wisdom.

  • Do I need to add cardio to my workout routine?

    Every person is different, so talk to your doctor to see what’s best for you. Choose a variety of heart healthy activities that you enjoy and stick with them for a lifetime of wellness.

  • Who is Right for barre3
  • What kind of experience is necessary to practice barre3?

    No experience or fitness level is required to practice barre3. We have clients in their 20s and their 70s sweating it out together at the barre. It doesn’t matter if you are an elite athlete or if you haven’t exercised in years—you will be challenged at an appropriate level for you. Just try it for yourself, and you’ll see what we mean!

  • Can I do barre3 with an injury?

    We are known for our modifications for common injuries. Clear your injuries with a physician before you begin barre3. We are not doctors. We are, however, passionate about helping you make barre3 your own so you can get a good safe workout when you are ready.

  • Can I do barre3 pregnant?

    Consult with your physician during all stages of pregnancy to see if barre3 is appropriate for you. We have many pregnant clients who have great success with barre3 but they modify to make it an appropriate prenatal program. Every person is different and every pregnancy is different.   • Is barre3 a good postnatal workout?

    Yes! We get rave reviews from new moms. But, please consult with your doctor to determine a good time to start exercising again after having a baby.     Yes! And just so you know, philosophically we are committed to helping clients tap into their own body wisdom and learn techniques to improve posture.     Barre3 Online workouts are studio classes re-engineered for at home and on the go. Ranging from 10 to 60 minutes, each video is designed to shape, lift, and tone your entire body. We offer hundreds of online workouts on our website, and we post new videos monthly.

  • How are the online workouts different from classes in studio?

    With barre3 Online, you get the latest innovations and variety from our studios in your own home. Plus, you get to work out in your PJs and on your own schedule! In studio you get a one to one connection with your instructor and the motivation that is so powerful in a group setting. All our studio classes are 60 minutes and set to amazing playlists.   • How can I connect with other barre3 Online subscribers?

    You can join our vibrant Facebook and Instagram communities. Our barre3 enthusiasts love sharing tips ranging from favorite workouts to what to cook for dinner. Of course, nothing beats the connections you will make in our live classes! Check our locations for a list of studios.

  • How does billing work?

    You will be charged automatically at the end of your subscription billing cycle unless you cancel. Cancel anytime.

  • Do you have any tips to help me be accountable and practice barre3 consistently?

    Consistency is key for fast, body-shaping results. Our 28 to Great and our 7 Day Body Blast programs are both effective options if you’re looking to follow a structured plan.

  • Why is my video not playing smoothly on my computer?

    First, check to make sure that you have a strong, broadband internet connection. Next, try downloading and installing an updated browser (updated versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari work well) and an updated version of Adobe Flash Player. If you need further tech support, contact us. We will help you!

  • Why is my video not playing on my iPad/iPhone?

    On mobile devices, you could be experiencing streaming issues if you are watching videos over the mobile connection (3G or 4G rather than an internet connection). Barre3 workouts require a broadband connection for optimized viewing and we recommend connecting to a wifi connection.

  • What devices does barre3 Online support?

    Barre3 Online is supported by laptops, desktop computers, and iOS devices (iPads and iPhones). To check if your device is compatible, preview a video.

  • How can I increase the volume?

    Make sure you slide the volume control under the video all the way up to the top. For more volume control, try plugging your laptop into speakers or connect your laptop to a TV.

  • How do I edit my music options?

    All videos default to play music. You can choose to turn off the music by selecting “mute the music” under “Music Options.”

  • How do I change the workout video to full screen?

    Access full-screen mode by clicking on the square to the right in the video player controls.

  • How can I improve the quality of the workout video?

    To upgrade the quality of the workout video, change the resolution of the video to 720p or 1080p. The higher the resolution, the clearer the image. If you experience unexpected pausing, select Auto.

  • Is it possible to view online workout videos on my TV?

    Yes! You can view online workouts on your TV by using Google Chromecast, Apple AirPlay, or an HDMI cable.

  • What is 28 to Great?

    28 to Great is a complete month-long workout and nutrition plan designed to transform the body, increase energy, and pave the way for consistent health and fitness. You can do 28 to Great two ways: Follow along with online workouts or DVDs.

  • How do I get started with 28 to Great?

    If you choose to follow along with 28 to Great online, sign up for 28 to Great through your account. Once you receive your welcome email, the first step is to read through recipes and get familiar with our online workouts. If you prefer to do the program with DVDs, get started by purchasing your 28 to Great Kit online. You’ll receive it in the mail within 7 to 10 business days. TIP: If you have a studio near you, stock up on studio classes for optimal results. Our team of instructors are here for you and will support you along the way.

  • I do not subscribe to online workouts. How do I join 28 to great?

    To participate in 28 to Great online, you’ll need to subscribe first. Learn how that works here. Another option is to do 28 to Great at home with our 28 to Great Kit, which will be mailed to your house.

  • I subscribe to online workouts. How do I join 28 to Great?

    If you subscribe to online workouts, sign up for 28 to Great through your account.

  • How does billing work?

    You have two options. You can subscribe to barre3 Online for as low as $15 a month or you can purchase our Limited Edition 28 to Great Kit for $95 plus shipping.

  • Can I participate in-studio as well as online?

    Yes! If you have a studio near you, stock up on classes so you can get optimal results. The online workouts, DVD workouts, and studio workouts are interchangeable.

  • Are studio classes included in the 28 to Great challenge kit?

    All studio classes are sold separately. Find a studio near you to schedule and reserve a class.

  • How do you track my workouts?

    We do not track your workouts. We trust that you will track your own workouts, whether taken in-studio or online.

  • What does the nutrition plan entail?

    Our philosophy is simple: eat whole foods. Get access to hundreds of healthy recipes when you subscribe to barre3 Online.

  • What does the workout and nutrition plan entail?

    Our 7 day plan is designed to help you feel good fast. Commit to 7 days of workouts + 7 days of smoothies, salads, snacks and soups to shed a little weight and gain a lot of energy. Learn more here.

  • May I do a combination of both in studio and online workouts?

    Yes! We recommend doing a combination of both in-studio and online workouts if you have a studio near you. Find a studio near you.

  • Is it ok if I have coffee and alcohol?

    A small cup of black coffee each day is ok. Avoid alcohol. Read more about how you can make better choices with our “crowding out” philosophy.

  • Am I restricted to eating recipes posted on the Recipe Index?

    Modify recipes to make this your own. Feel free to incorporate some of your own recipes, provided they fit our Portion Rx and contain fiber, protein, and healthy fats. Refer to our foods to favor and foods to forsake for guidance. Dive deeper into our nutrition philosophy.

  • Do I need the ball for the online workouts for this challenge?

    Yes! The core ball is a great prop that will help you deepen your practice. Purchase it here.

  • How can I invite my friends?

    It’s simple! All you need to do is sign in and go to the referral page. You can share your unique referral link by email, on Facebook, or on Twitter.
  • How do I earn a referral credit?

    To earn a referral credit, your friend must purchase a barre3 Online subscription (excluding gift subscriptions or kit purchases) using your unique referral link. After the subscription purchase is made, you will receive a referral credit on your barre3 Online account within one business day.

  • Is there a limit to how many people I can refer?

    No, you can refer as many people as you’d like!

  • Can I redeem my credit in-studio, for a gift subscription, or on the b3 shop?

    Referral credit is only good towards your barre3 Online subscription. They’re not valid on gift subscriptions, b3 shop purchases, or in our studios.

  • How do I redeem my credit?

    Your referral credit will be automatically applied to your next billing cycle. You’ll be billed the difference if there is any to your credit card. If you have any referral credit leftover, it will be rolled over to your next payment. You can check how much referral credit you have by signing in and going to your account settings page. You can also upgrade your subscription at any time, and your credit will be applied during checkout!

  • Does my credit expire?

    No, referral credit never expires! To check how much credit you have, all you need to do is sign in and go to your account settings page.

  • How will I know if one of my friends signed up?

    If a friend purchased a barre3 Online subscription with your referral link (excluding gift subscriptions or kit purchases), you will get an email notifying you of your reward credit within a business day of their purchase.

  • My friend signed up for barre3 after I told them about it before you started your referral program. Can I get my credit?

  • Help With Your Account
  • Can you help me with a billing question?

    Check your bank statement to see when your last billing date occurred. We bill on that date monthly unless you cancel your account. You can also find this information in your account. Please contact us for assistance.

  • Help! I can’t sign in.

    Are you trying to schedule and reserve classes at your local studio? You’ll need to make a reservation at your studio’s scheduling page. If you are unable to sign up for barre3 studio classes, contact your local studio. We will take care of you!

    It’s possible that you need to update your credit card information. Do you see the billing page when you try to sign in to view online workouts? If so, it’s likely that your most recent transaction has failed, and you need to update your credit card information to renew your subscription to barre3 online workouts.

    It’s possible that you are not able to sign in to barre3 online workouts because you don’t have the correct email address. Try signing in with another email address to see if that helps.

    Do you have the right password? It’s possible that you are entering in an incorrect password. Try resetting your password. If you don’t receive an email immediately, check your spam folder.

  • How do I purchase a gift subscription?

    You can purchase a gift subscription here. The recipient will receive an email with a link to redeem their gift subscription. You will receive a confirmation email of purchase.

  • Is it possible to pause my subscription?

    You can pause your subscription if you are on a monthly plan. If you would like to pause your subscription, sign in and go to your settings. Click the edit button next to "Online Subscriptions", and select the "Cancel" button. On the next screen, click "Cancel my Subscription". On the final screen, you can pause your subscription for up to three months. You can change the resume date at anytime by reactivating your subscription. Your account will automatically be billed when it reactivates.

  • Help! I’m having problems purchasing a subscription to online workouts.

    Make sure that your billing address is verified, and that you entered in your information correctly. Then, contact your bank to see why the transaction failed. We recommend trying another form of payment.

  • How do I update my credit card information?

    It’s easy! Sign in and click on your name in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Next, select “My Account.” From there, you can update the credit card information we have on file.

  • How do I update the email address and password associated with my accounts?

    It’s easy! Sign in and click on your name in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Next, select “My Account.” From there, you can enter in your new information and click on “Update.”

  • Can I cancel at any time?

    If you are on a month-to-month plan, you can cancel at anytime, and your access to online workouts will continue until the end of the billing cycle in the month you cancelled. There are no refunds on month-to-month plans as it is an auto-renew plan. If you are on a prepaid 6-month or 12-month plan, you can cancel anytime, and your access will continue until the end of your original pre-pay period. There are no refunds on pre-paid plans as you pay in full at the start of your subscription, but you can switch between different plans and billing durations and the value of your existing subscription will be applied as a credit.   • How do I cancel my subscription?

    Sign in, and click on your name in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Next, select “My Account.” From there, you can cancel your subscription to barre3 online workouts. For any further inquiries, contact us. We will help you!
